Conversation with the mailman

Mom and I were walking this afternoon and a mailman walked by us.
Me: Barkbarkbarkbarkbark, or, in human language, stop and pet me and by the way where are those chickens I ordered?!?!
Mailman: Yah, yah, you're a bad dog.
Me: Barkbarkbark, or you're gonna see a very bad dog if you don't deliver my chicken soon!
Mailman: If you're such a bad dog, how come you're wearing a sweater?
Mom: Even bad dogs get cold.

Sheesh mom, thanks for the back up.

Pawsome park day, arooo!

The weather was gorgeous today!  Of course mom and I went to the park.  I sniffed all over, left lots of p-mail, let a few people pet me, sniffed some new furiends, and basically hung around for a few hours. It was PAWSOME. I didn't want to leave. Seriously, mom and I got near the car once, and she pulled out her keys, and I literally pulled her back to the park area. Have I mentioned I'm a stubborn princess?! BOL   So I dragged mom to a few different places around the park, where I'd stop and watch the peoples and dogs and just enjoy being outside.

I'm a unicorn!

Mom took more photos, but they're still on her phone. I'll make her post them tomorrow cause we're both wiped out now. Bye pups! Hope you all had a good weekend!

A one park afternoon

It's been warmer these past few days, and mom and I are loving it! We can take walks of more than four blocks, BOL! Yesterday we walked around a nearby park for 30 minutes or so.  First, on the ride there, I barked out of the car window at lots of people who were walking their dogs. Then, I sniff sniff sniffed around the park and left a few p-mails of my own. It's so nice to be able to be outside for more than 10 minutes! Sunshine plus good sniffs equals a happy me!

Hey mom, you've finished your first cup of coffee, how about a walk now?!?!

A story from last night

Mom's friend wrote a so-called funny post on Facebook about me and mu doggy roommate Bela.  Apparently he thinks my resource guarding is hilarious. Sigh.

Mom's
friend: "Just saw for the first time in my life a dog throw an actual temper tantrum. It was awesome."
Friend's friend: "Please explain."
Mom's
friend: "Friend and i leave for movie. As always, friend leaves treats with dogs (to associate positive with people leaving the house). We get back, dogs greet us, we walk dogs and go back inside. As soon as I let the big dog off her leash, she hightails it to little dog's bed where she scarfs down little dogs treats which she never ate (but big dog clearly knew were there and momentarily unguarded). Little dog runs up as this event ends, has a moment of disbelief and then launches into a 5 minute snarling, barking tirade at friend, big dog, and empty bed. Finally we put new treats in front of her....more barking and snarling. Then we put the treats in the bed. Still with the barking and snarling. Then we finally put new treats in the exact same spot in the bed as the old ones were and she calms down, eats them and goes to sleep.

It was epic."

It was not epic, it was uncool and unfair.  They were my treats, I guarded them for hours, and my needy sneaky doggy roommate Bela stole them when I wasn't looking. Grrrrr! (Ok, I got more treats, but that's not the point!)

Valentine's Day dinner

Mom put down two food options: first is my rice in chicken broth, stella and chewy's patty bits, and kibble, second is a new canned food. (We ran out of steak earlier this week. *pout*)  She moved the dishes in several places around the living room to see if I preferred to eat anywhere specific. I sat in my bed. She put both dishes on my bed. Didn't touch em. She spooned bits of the first option onto my bed, or rather, the heated blanket on top of my bed. Now I'm eating. Nope, not spoiled! Also, she really needs to wash this blanket, BOL.

It's been stupid cold here pups! We got snow for days it seems, and I was not happy! We were cooped up inside all day yesterday.  I am ready for sunshine *and* warmth!! ( Mom says join the club, hardy har har. She's not funny. Now scoop out more food for me! BOL) We have sunshine today but there's still stupid snow on the ground.

Dinner time

Last night I got rice in chicken broth, kibble (boring!), a Stella and Chewy's patty, and teeny tiny pieces of steak that mom and her friend had for dinner. I ate some of it off the floor and some off the plate, just cause that's how I roll.

Tonight's dinner is the same, but in a bowl so I can't make as much of a mess (trust me mom, I can, BOL).  This is how mom served it to me.  Yes, my blanket says "Little Princess", BOL.

Yay, steak!

Moar steak!!

Thursday torture!

On Thursday mom sent me to a new torture chamber!  My regular groomer is working out of a doggy daycare place now instead of her house, so mom took me there for the torture. There were lots of new smells, and I told off a gigantic Newfoundland, but I was kinda nervous about being at a new place  I was only there for a little over an hour, and at least I didn’t have to hang out in daycare and deal with the puppies and other dogs in my space.

The torture consisted of a nail trim, a super scrubby bath and a warm dryer, and a sanitary groom, which also included trimming some of my more matted areas. Mom wants me to make sure I tell you she does brush me (the soft side of the brush feels nice but the pointy side does not!), but because I’m wearing fleece sweaters, my fur gets matted underneath, especially on my front legs.

I hate having my nails trimmed – in fact a few days before taking me for torture, mom trimmed one of my nails a teeny tiny bit, and I freaked out and ran and hid under the papasan chair. At the new torture chamber, it took two people to cut my nails – I’m high maintenance, BOL!

Mom was hoping I wouldn’t get too much fur cut cause of winter and me getting cold and being skinny, but the groomer trimmed more than mom expected cause I had mats – guess mom needs to brush me more and not make me wear sweaters! I can’t wait until winter is over, and I’m sure many pups agree!

When I got home, I rubbed against the chair a lot:

Mom kept trying to take pictures, but I didn’t want to look at the camera (I was kinda mad at her):

Mom thinks I look too skinny in my photos and she’s embarrassed cause she does feed me, I just don’t put on weight, and she’s afraid people will think she’s a bad mom.

Here are two photos of me looking adorable:

I was worn out – and still adorable of course! – after my torture:
